There’s something especially heartbreaking about an older dog coming back to rescue. Princess knows what it feels like to have a home. She knows what it means to have a family, a place to sleep, a person to love, and a life she thought was hers. And then, through absolutely no fault of her own, she found herself back with us. We can’t help but wonder if she understands why. Does she wonder where her family went? Does she wonder if someone is coming back for her? Does she wonder how long she’ll have to wait this time? We’ll never know what goes through her mind. But we do know Princess is still the same sweet girl she has always been. ❤️ She loves the water. She loves a good cuddle. And more than anything, she seems to love simply being close to her people. Princess is not dog or cat friendly, so she’ll need to be the only queen in her castle. 👑 But give this girl a person to love, a soft place to lay her head, and some affection to soak up, and she’ll be happy. Older dogs are so often overlooked. People see the gray in their faces and the years behind them and think about how much time they might have left. But Princess isn’t asking for forever. She’s asking for someone to make the rest of her days feel like home. She deserves someone who will look at her age and see wisdom, loyalty, sweetness, and a lifetime of love still waiting to be given. She deserves a soft bed. She deserves warm cuddles. She deserves someone who will never make her wonder if she’s being left again. She has already had a home. Now she needs someone to give her her forever home. Someone who will look into those sweet eyes and say: “You don’t have to scared anymore, Princess. You’re home.” 🥺❤️ Because this time, she deserves to stay.
